Metropolitan Closets founder, Phil Lemke,
began working with closet organization
products in 1992 while running a successful
solid surface countertop business.

Beginning first with installation for some of his
customers, he eventually began to sell
organizers as part of his product offering. This
continued until 2004.

Realizing that there was a great need for
custom solutions to storage issues that was
not being met,the decision was made to begin
manufacturing storage products under the
name Metropolitan Closets.

Since then, the company has expanded three
times and currently works with state of the art
equipment in a facility twelve times larger
than its original building.

At present, Metropolitan Closets Inc. sells to a
small retail area near its facility and through
dealers outside of its territory.
